Abstract

In the current study, via using a mixed ligand approach, a new three-dimensional metal–organic framework, [Zn2(L)2(bpp)(H2O)2]n (bpp = 1,3-di(4-pyridyl)propane and H2L = 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid) was synthesized with a high yield under the condition of solvothermal reaction, and its structure was characterized through the diffraction of single crystal X-ray along with EA. Luminescence studies revealed that complex 1 can be utilized as the highly sensitive fluorescent sensor for sensing Fe3+ in aqueous solution. The apoptosis assay was used to assess the death of breast cancer cells after the compound treatment, and the relative expression of the genes related to ROS was also detected. The results for the simulation of molecular docking provided the novel design strategy of the anti-cancer drug and provided deeper insights into the anti-cancer activities.
