Abstract
AbstractA [2]catenane and a pretzelane that consist of one aromatic dialkylammonium spacer, one dibenzo‐24‐crown‐8 (DB24C8) unit, and one Sn–porphyrin dihydroxide component were synthesized. In the [2]catenane, dibenzo‐24‐crown‐8 and the Sn–porphyrin dihydroxide are two independent components, whereas in the pretzelane, dibenzo‐24‐crown‐8 and the Sn–porphyrin dihydroxide are linked covalently. The interlocked molecules were obtained by the axial ligation of Sn–porphyrin dihydroxide with the resorcinol moieties of both termini in the aromatic dialkylammonium spacer.
