Abstract
Interpolated finite impulse response (IFIR) filter is a technique for designing narrow band filters with less complexity relative to conventional filter design methods. This paper presents the design of a low complex 17-band non-uniform IFIR filter bank for digital hearing aid applications. The prototype linear phase low pass filter has a low complex design. Various frequency transformations are performed on this prototype low pass filter and its high pass and band pass versions are created. Different levels of interpolations are done on these filters, to create various bands and choosing the suitable bands, all the 17 subbands are generated. Different audiogram matching experiments are done using this proposed filter bank, and good results obtained.
