Abstract

A 17-year-old girl was brought to the emergency department by her father and older sister. After the patient participated in several competitive gymnastics events, she experienced weakness and gradually increasing inguinal, vaginal, and bilateral anterior thigh pain, to the point where she could not walk. She described the vaginal pain as the most severe, rating it 10 on a 0 to 10 pain scale. Examining the patient was difficult because she insisted on staying in the knee-chest position for comfort. We administered 60 mg of intramuscular ketorolac and allowed her to rest for 30 minutes.
