Abstract
This paper presents an all-MOSFET voltage reference with relatively low power, high power supply ripple rejection (PSRR) and low line regulation (LR), which is designed in a standard 0.18-µm CMOS process. The proposed reference circuit consists of a proportional-to-absolute-temperature (PTAT) current generator and a reference voltage generator. Simultaneously, two low-pass filters built only by MOSFETs have been added to the circuit not only to enhance the PSRR but also to improve the LR without increasing much active area and supply current. Post-layout simulation results show the proposed voltage reference consumes a quiescent current around 160 nA when supply voltage is 1.7 V at room temperature. The PSRR is as high as -128 dB at low frequency, and better than -80 dB over the full frequency range. Besides, when supply voltage varies from 1.7 V to 3.8 V, a line regulation as low as 0.00039%/V is achieved. Moreover, the reference obtains a temperature coefficient (TC) of 21 ppm/°C when temperature varies from -40°C to 85°C. Owing to the fully-MOS structure, the total area of the proposed circuit is only around 0.014 mm2.
