Abstract

A 13-GHz tunable oscillator using YIG film grown by liquid-phase epitaxy has been developed. A very low phase noise of -93 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz from the carrier and an output power of 11 dBm have been achieved over the entire tuning range of 500 MHz. With excellent linear tuning characteristics, this oscillator is ideal for use as a frequency-agile synthesized local oscillator in a very-small-aperture-terminal (VSAT) system.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
