Abstract

A 330 ps rise time, 19 dB gain and 3-5 V maximal output voltage for a 25 Ω load amplifier is described. The frequency response was improved, reducing the Miller effect of the base to collector capacitance. For this purpose the first transistor of the series-shunt amplifier was replaced by a cascode configuration. High maximal output voltage was obtained by using a d.c. coupled with a npn-pnp pair, circuit design.
