Abstract

A thermoelectrically regulated 0 degrees C bath for the reference junctions of thermocouples is developed by using a solid-state heat pump. The temperature of an insulated copper block for the reference junctions is maintained at 0 degrees C with a stability of better than +or-0.005 degrees C h-1 with a constant ambient temperature. The bath with the temperature controller is very compact in size (160 mm wide by 90 mm high by 220 mm deep and 1.8 kg), easy to assembly and simple to use.
