Abstract

The method of 13 C-NMR spectroscopy was used to study the structural features of humic acids of peat and the products of their oxidative destruction. The water-soluble destruction products are shown to be highly oxidized fragments of humic acids enriched with oxygen-containing functional groups and having a high cation absorbing capacity.
