Abstract

Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation is an important clinical skill for senior medical students (MS) entering emergency medicine (EM), family practice (FP), and internal medicine (IM) residency programs. Research shows senior MS have deficiencies in ECG interpretation and that these skills do not change over the final year of medical school. However, little information is available describing these skills among senior MS entering these programs. This study aims to describe how residency aspiration impacts ECG interpretation skills.
