Abstract

As managers, it is your responsibility to provide reliable cost effective energy sources for your company now and in the future. As part of this planning, alternate fuels such as micronized coal and waste fuels can play an important role in controlling your energy costs. As prudent utility managers, you must continue to evaluate fuel options and make contingency plans to respond to fuel interruptions or take advantage of fuel price changes. This presentation is an overview of micronized coal and waste fuels as one of the options you have to consider. This presentation is a technical and economic overview of the application of micronized coal firing of packaged industrial boilers and supplemental waste fuel firing.
