Abstract

Pseudoaneurysms of the superficial temporal artery (STA) are reported as a rare complication of blunt craniofacial trauma and neurosurgical procedures. Classically they present with a pulsatile temporal swelling and are usually treated by surgical resection plus ligature of the proximal and distal vessel ends. We report the management of an unusual presentation of a pseudoaneurysm of the STA following open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of a high condylar neck fracture via pre-auricular approach.
