Abstract

Introduction: FGR affects 5-10% pregnancies and is a risk factor for perinatal mortality. Ultrasound remains the gold standard in detection and monitoring of FGR, however its accuracy is limited. sFlt-1, PLGF together with sFlt-1/PLGF ratio are valuable tools in predicting risk of preeclampsia (PET). The common etiology of inadequate trophoblast invasion in both conditions affords the opportunity to use the above markers to improve detection and management of FGR pregnancies. Aim: To evaluate sFlt-1, PLGF and sFlt-1/PLGF ratio in pregnancies affected FGR compared to AGA fetuses.
