Abstract

Power consumption is one of the major concerns for a large-scale high-energy accelerator such as the Future Circular Linear Collider (FCC). We address this problem in this article by describing the concept and the results of numerical modelling of an efficient 1 MW, 800 MHz two-stage CW klystron having a depressed collector. The klystron has a compact design. The numerical simulations predict an efficiency of 92%.
