Abstract

Sketch drawing has been often incorporated into curricula for machine drawing since it is considered to be effective for training of a projection method. However, due to the limitation of educational environments, such as the number of instruments, classroom hours, etc., it is sometimes difficult to take enough time that each of students performs practice at one's own speed. For this reason, we have proposed a computer assisted instruction system which provides an e-Learning environment for exercises in sketch drawing. In this study, surface model that was shown on the computer display was used as an object for sketch. In order to emulate sketch works in the real world, dimensions of the object are measured by the similar approach which used a caliper. The prototype system was developed and the effectiveness of the method was discussed.
