Abstract

After a brief overview of the Christian church and missions in Korea, this chapter examines the state of Korea's contemporary Protestant missions, particularly its missions. It then examines the conception and reception of Korean missionaries' work in America and how Korean missionaries are preaching the gospel to Americans outside of the Korean Diaspora. This is done through a case study of the largest reverse mission agency in South Korea, University Bible Fellowship (UBF) and its work in the United States. Zeal, hard work and close mentoring are found to be essential in enabling Korean missionaries to evangelize Americans. The problems and controversies that they have had as missionaries with Asian faces evangelizing and raising disciples among mostly white Americans are also discussed.
