Abstract
Efforts to reform the U.S. health care system include new models of health care delivery and new approaches to reimbursement for services provided by PAs and other health professionals. This chapter provides an overview of reimbursement issues relevant to PAs, including provisions associated with Medicare and Medicaid and a discussion of “incident to” and related billing arrangements. In addition, the chapter reviews new care delivery models and approaches to value-based reimbursement, including the Medicare Quality Payment Program (QPP).
