Abstract

ASD and intellectual disability (ID) are highly heterogenous and prevalent neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). Children with NDDs also experience high rates of medical comorbidity, as well as increased frequency and length of pediatric medical hospitalizations. Delirium is a frequent complication of critical medical illness in children, which may be exacerbated by core features of NDDs. In this review, we aim to discuss the current state of literature at the intersection of NDDs and pediatric delirium.
