Abstract

While ADHD is most commonly diagnosed around 8 years of age, emerging ADHD symptoms are frequently seen as early as during the preschool years. This gap between the onset of ADHD symptomatology and its eventual identification results in significant delays to receiving early intervention and treatment. Thus, the main aim of this study was to examine the early manifestations of ADHD in preschool children. To this end, we studied emergent symptoms of ADHD in the preschool offspring of parents with ADHD and compared them to the offspring of parents without ADHD.
