Abstract

Exposure to childhood trauma is a well-documented risk factor for the development of early psychosis and psychosis spectrum symptoms. Although health economics research suggests better treatment outcomes when trauma is treated in the context of early psychosis care, there is a dearth of research regarding the safety and effectiveness of empirically supported trauma-related treatment in these settings. Trauma-integrated CBT for psychosis was designed to address this staggering gap.
