implementation. Pre-implementation was 9 months from January 1st, 2014 to September 30th, 2014 and post-implementation was 9 months from October 1st, 2014 to June 30th, 2015. A retrospective chart review was performed for National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) defined vascular procedures. NHSN SSI definitions for superficial, deep, and organ space were followed for 30 or 90 days post-procedure depending on surgery type. Components of the bundle included pre-operative skin decolonization, application of disposable telemetry leads, standardized draping and graft handling, double gloving, and glove change before closing. The primary outcome was SSI rate pre and post-implementation. RESULTS: A total of 734 procedures and 21 SSIswere identified during the study period. Pre-implementation SSI rate was 3.83 compared to post-implementation SSI rate of 1.90 (per 100 procedures). There was a 50.4% reduction in SSI rates and an attributable 7 SSI prevented (Pvalue = .14). SSI rates for specific procedures shown on Table 1. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated a 50.4% reduction in vascular surgery SSI rates following implementation of a bundled approach toperioperative care. Each component of thebundlewas evidencebased and implementedwithunified support fromsurgeons and surgery leadership. Use of a bundled approached to perioperative care can reduce SSI rates among vascular surgery patients.
