Abstract

This study’s objective estimate health-state utilities by level of pain intensity in patients with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). We used data from three randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials of pregabalin to estimate Health Utilities Index (HUI) Mark II utility weights among FMS patients by level of pain intensity. In these trials, pain intensity was assessed by patient diary using a 0-10 point scale; the Short-Form 36 (SF-36) also was administered to each patient. We used the baseline and end-of-study assessments, pooling all observations across treatment groups and studies.
