Maternal nicotine exposure during gestation results in metabolic and structural changes in the developing fetal lung, and abnormal lung function in newborn monkeys. We hypothesized that maternal nicotine exposure alters fetal pulmonary arterial vascular responses to hypoxemic and hyperoxemic stimuli at near-term gestation
