Abstract

Through real‐time acquisition of eye position using eye tracking, viewers can experience stereoscopic scenes from the naked eye 3D display. This paper proposes binocular camera eye tracking method that utilizes disparity to perceive the actual inter‐pupillary distance of different users. This method estimates the head posture based on facial landmark points and exploits camera projection to determine the spatial coordinate of the pupil. Furthermore, collaborative filtering approach is introduced to mitigate the jitter in pupil position. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm enhances the performance in eye tracking compared to monocular method.
