Abstract

There is an unclear association between chronic kidney disease and prurigo nodularis (PN). We hypothesized that global dysregulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) may contribute to both the development of PN skin lesions, renal disease, and help explain observed racial disparities in PN. We thus conducted a cross-sectional analysis of renal comorbidities in PN patients using TriNetX, a global health research network providing access to medical records from approximately 69 million patients.
