Abstract
Lung transplant recipients have a high incidence of pulmonary aspergillosis which is associated with high morbidity and mortality despite antifungal prophylaxis and treatment. Early diagnosis is associated with improved survival. Given the poor sensitivity of conventional mycological culture in respiratory samples, we determine the utility of novel Aspergillus antigen and PCR based diagnostic tests in a cohort of lung transplant recipients.
