Abstract
We have developed a Switchable Privacy FFS LCD that can be switched between two display modes: 1) Public mode with wide viewing profile and 2) Privacy mode activated partially only in CDD area. By adopting the new LCD configuration, our 12.3‐ inch prototype has successfully enabled: 1) Seamless Public mode and 2) Privacy mode that lowers the relative luminance (<1.3%) over H‐25deg, and 3) Minimized color difference (Δxy<0.005) between modes.
