Abstract

While ventricular assist device (VAD) use in pediatric patients has been associated with anti-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibody production, the clinical significance of these antibodies has not been clearly established. We investigated the clinical impact of anti-HLA antibodies associated with VAD use in a large cohort of pediatric heart transplant (HTx) recipients.
