Abstract

Preeclampsia(PRE) remains a leading contributor to maternal morbidity. Recent focuses on the involvement of angiogenic factors in PRE have failed to yield clinically useful biomarkers. We hypothesize that microRNAs (MIR), which are likely to be involved in PRE and detectable in maternal serum, may prove to be novel and accurate biomarkers. The objective of this study was to assess the utility of specific miRNAs as biomarkers for the diagnosis as well as prediction of PRE.
