Abstract

Here we propose an analytical approach using the CLAI model (The continuous linear acoustic impedance model) for the transient problem of elastic waves propagating in layered media. The CLAI model is the layer element model in which the acoustic impedance varies linearly along the thickness of the layer and is continuous at the interface of the adjacent layer. As shown in the analysis of the CLAI model, it's shown that no precursor and no reflected stress component exists and the Cagniard method can easily be adapted to the double inverse transforms.
