Abstract

Subsynchronous vibration of high pressure turbines has been investigated for many years. It was found that the phenomenon was related to the partial admission condition of the control stage. One of the causes of the destabilizing force is considered to be the labyrinth seal of the control stage. In this study, the partial admission effect was tested using a small seal model. It was found that partial admission increases the destabilizing force.
