Abstract

There have long been reports of adverse mood effects resulting from contraceptive care. Scientific examination of this phenomenon has resulted in inconsistent findings, but changes in mood symptoms in the context of simultaneous contraceptive care is a common scenario for the child and adolescent psychiatrist. This program will consider the scientific evidence on mood effects of contraceptive care options along with clinical case examples to promote a comprehensive, multisystem approach to assessment and care.
