Abstract

In this contribution we report on a 80 kHz repetition rate compact high power fiber amplifier pumped optical parametric chirped pulse amplifier (OPCPA) delivering 16,2 µJ pulses with a pulse duration of 50.7 fs. High repetition rate optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) [1,2] are typically driven by fiber chirped pulse amplification (FCPA) systems. Pulse energies of up to 81µJ and pulse peak powers up to 2 GW [2] have been generated by an OPA, which was driven by a mJ - FCPA system [3], incorporating a quite large stretcher compressor system (stretched pulse duration 2 ns). The approach presented here generates high energy pump pulses through direct amplification in a large mode area photonic crystal fiber without the need of a FCPA system and is therefore less complex and more compact. A schematic overview of the setup is shown in Fig. 1.
