Abstract

The authors demonstrate a 2 × 40-channel dispersion-slope compensator for 40 Gbit/s wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) transmission systems that employs an arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) with a 4.0 THz bandwidth and a spatial phase filter. It can compensate for the dispersion slope of the entire bandwidth of C- and L-bands simultaneously.
