Abstract

Usual air insufflation during colonoscope insertion has been associated with possible missed cancers and precursor lesions in the proximal colon. Compared to usual air insufflations, chromoendoscopy with dye spray and the water method increase proximal colon adenoma detection rate (ADR) in patients undergoing screening colonoscopy. Dye spray is considered cumbersome. The water method is simple and easy-to-learn, albeit requires practice.
