Abstract

Patient Global Impression of Change (PGIC) has been widely used as a secondary outcome in clinical trials of chronic pain treatments. In these analyses, we examined whether improvements in key outcome measures and the presence and intensity of adverse events (AEs) contributed to patient reports of global improvement. We describe correlations among PGIC, pain, sleep, and AEs in patients treated with pregabalin for painful DPN or PHN. Data from 10 pregabalin RCTs (5 DPN, 4 PHN, and 1 in both conditions) of 5-13 weeks were pooled.
