Abstract
The RECELL® Autologous Cell Harvesting Device enables point-of-care preparation of autologous skin cell suspension (ASCS). Currently, ASCS is approved for the treatment of acute thermal burn injuries, with additional indications under investigation. We hypothesize the therapeutic potential of ASCS may be enhanced for skin regeneration and primed for skin rejuvenation by improving the cells’ ability to divide and differentiate by reverse-aging through telomere extension. A method to safely extend telomeres in fibroblasts and myoblasts has been demonstrated using the delivery of modified mRNA encoding telomerase (TERT).
