Abstract
My Lord Mayor, my Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen; in rising to respond to your toast to the British Institute of Radiology, my Lord Mayor, I would like to thank you very warmly indeed for the very kind things you have said about us. It also gives me an opportunity as President of the Institute to thank you and the Corporation of the City of London for your hospitality tonight for having provided us on this our 75th anniversary with such a magnificent setting at the Mansion House. It gives me very great pleasure to welcome the many distinguished guests from our own country and abroad. We are delighted to see with us here tonight representatives of radiological societies from many countries and it is a particular pleasure to welcome Professor Jan von Ronnen, President of the European Association of Radiologists, a very old and good friend of our Institute.
