Abstract
Altered vaginal microbial population and subclinical infection have long been posited as major contributors to preterm birth, the leading cause worldwide for infant morbidity and mortality. We sought to describe the vaginal microbiome using high throughput genomic technology in the setting of preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM).
