Abstract
A previous study examined the effects of a unilateral thoraco-abdominal exposure from a TASER X26 on breathing and found no adverse effects at 15 seconds. This study, combined with a study demonstrating normal diaphragmatic excursion with an ipsilateral exposure, provided strong evidence for a lack of respiratory impairment from the device. However, an exposure transversely across the chest had not been previously studied.
