Abstract

Sound quality of hitting sound becomes important in design of golf club. First we suggest sound quality evaluation parameters for sound quality improvement of the hitting sound. Then we examine correlation with the sensory evaluation. We show that parameter which has a problem in correlation is improved by examining subjects characteristic for sound quality evaluation. As a result, we show that there were three characteristic groups for pitch evaluation of the hitting sound, which are affected by frequency, loudness and reverberation of sounds respectively.
