Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design a small sized bone conduction speaker by using piezoelectric vibrator. In this paper, a bone conduction speaker by using piezoelectric vibrator and the one by using electro-dynamic shaker are compared. In the experiment, the evaluation of auditory sense characteristics and the evaluation of voice articulation under masking-noise are carried out. The evaluation of voice articulation shows that the articulation of piezoelectric type is obtained 60 to 95% under masking-noise 70dB or more, and it is superior to electro-dynamic shaker type. And, it is indicated that the voice articulation is affected by the auditory sense characteristics, which has the high correlation with the acceleration characteristic of transmission part.
