Abstract
Telepsychiatry is a much needed service that provides mental health care to the underserved. We describe the history, evidence base, current practice, and educational efforts in telepsychiatry. The experience of three academic centers with implementation of clinical care and training of psychiatry residents and fellows is detailed.
