Abstract

Metal Injection Molding (MIM) method is a forming technique which produces the sintering metal. It is conducted the de-binder and the sintered after the molding by heating and kneading metal powder and the organic system binder is carried out. It combines better mechanical properties than one of conventional powder metallurgy method with the shape complexity of the three dimensions. Mechanical properties of MIM materials are not well-known because the process conditions of MIM method are not sufficiently discussed. Our aim is to evaluate the properties of MIM materials with AE method. In this study, the detected AE signals through the tensile and the fatigue testing were analyzed with AE parameter, frequency analysis and chaos time series analysis. In addition, X-ray diffraction test also was carried out. As the result, the possibility was shown that the properties of MIM materials have been evaluated with AE method.
