Abstract

Objectives: To identify the physical findings of hair loss in women who wear the hijab. To illustrate findings on examination that warrant additional care by a dermatologist and suggested treatment recommendations. Hair loss in hijab-wearing individuals is a cause of major concern for patients and families. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial to prevent permanent scarring alopecia and improve the quality of life in these patients. Hijab is a cloth worn by Muslim women to cover their hair and preserve their modesty.
