Abstract

In this chapter, we summarize the recent progress in the self-assembly of inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) in one-dimensional (1D) polymer-like nanostructures. We review the experimental strategies and the quantitative characterization methods for the self-assembly of NPs in 1D structures and describe the properties and the potential applications of NP assemblies.
