Abstract

Purpose: On July 1, 2000, Florida became the 13th state to amend its mandatory helmet law. Much attention has been focused on death rates and intra-cranial trauma since the amendment. The purpose of this review was to compare the number and types of craniofacial injuries sustained in helmeted vs. non-helmeted motorcyclists involved in crashes.
