Abstract

The analysis on the 2023 National Observatory on Inter-firm Networks’ data shows that the complementarity of resources and the belonging to mixed or horizontal networks are fundamental for innovation, influencing in a positive way the ability to innovate. However, the market overlap loses its positive role on the effectiveness and on the networks market performance because it does not directly impact innovation. The results, therefore, underline the importance of collaborative innovation, highlighting the coexistence of cooperative and competitive logics that can influence the overall effectiveness of innovative capacity.
