Abstract

Substance use during pregnancy has a significant negative impact on maternal, fetal, newborn and child health. Although few randomized controlled trials for the treatment of perinatal substance use disorder (SUD) exist, it is important to know what treatments are available for pregnant women and how to counsel women about the risks of substance use, as well as the risks and potential benefits of available treatment options.
