Abstract

This paper is concerned with the theoretical and experimental investigation of power flow angle (PFA) of SH <sub xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</sub> waves propagating in thin plates. It is found that the PFA is a sensitive function of electrical boundary conditions. Variations in PFA of as much as 14deg can be obtained for SH <sub xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</sub> waves propagating in Y cut lithium niobate plates. This effect can be gainfully employed for development of various devices for signal processing, for example, electrically controlled acoustic switches
